ode to the weekend

sometimes i want the intrigue, the drama, the excitement of my younger years.

and then i have weekends in which i sleep late and wake up to a pile of spring sunshine pouring in. and the sunshine is only matched by miller's to-die-for egg white-veggie omelettes only this time they also have turkey pepperoni and are served with iced chai latte.

weekends like this are made even better by winding three mile walks with a friend who's been crazy busy lately. by shopping and dinner with my love and then a movie at home before falling asleep to mad tv - only to wake up to yet another pool of sun.

then frisbee golf, homemade burritos and spanish rice eaten outside in the receding light of late april with my son and my guy. the whole thing topped off with trash tv and hours long sex before falling thickly into sleep.

it makes you realize - those out drama-ing and intriguing and excitementing really just want what i have. it's all about getting the life miller and i have created.

long live the weekend!
