Can you be a feminist and involved in rough sex?

my definition of feminism is that it frees a person from the constraints placed on them by gender, economics, politics and society. included in this is the freedom to engage in consensual sexual activity of any kind as long as it makes you feel good.

my emphasis is in two places here. the first being consensual. that means all parties must be okay with it. if you like rough sex and your girlfriend doesn't, it's not cool. that's pretty simple.

the other emphasis has to be on how you feel. it is not in the mode of feminism for someone to engage in any activity to please someone else. if it makes you the least bit uncomfortable, then speak up for yourself and let your partner(s) know that.

violence is violence. however, being considerate of your partner and having a little fun are not exactly violent, even if the fantasies and overtones might seem to be so on the surface. if someone is getting hurt, physically or emotionally, it ain't gonna work. otherwise, i say knock it up, bang it 'round and have fun.
